Graftbound Press

Graftbound publishes games and books whose physical structure rhymes with their story and mechanics. These games equip players to engage with their own story, experience the symbiosis of nature and society, explore the overlap of medium and message, and find wonder in imperfect things. Graftbound is a collaboration between Lucas Zellers and Emily Entner. We love designing for the experience of owning and holding the pieces of play, discovering excellent game pieces, and picking out paper stock.

  • How did you get started in games?

    Lucas and Emily met playing D&D in 2017, and Emily helped do illustrations and layout for Lucas's DM's Guild projects. Then Lucas went off and wrote a whole ecofantasy 5E monster manual called "The Book of Extinction" and Emily freelanced for loads of other indie creators until in 2024, when they collaborated on the Precious Things One Page RPG for Zine Month.

I love world building games and this little A6 open bound highly colorful book was made with so much care and really does make the world building experience different because of the choices the author and the publisher made.
