A Fool’s Errand is a tarot-fueled science fantasy game set in a vibrant post-calamity world of Androids, Humans, and those in between. Fools, go forth and explore realms both waking and subconscious. Beware: the Gods are watching, ready to manifest their love and rage as boons and calamities.

But these Gods are jealous, enormous, singular.
Death. Justice. The Hermit.
These Gods are the Major Arcana.

As the Fools grow in power, the calamities grow in number, drawing players ever closer to the world’s biggest calamity yet - the next Big Oops.

The Game at a glance:

  • 3-5 players make their Fools, and draw from a custom tarot deck to resolve incredible feats
  • The GM runs the game, gives a voice to the world around the players, and pulls the strings of the jealous Gods
  • Play in a vibrant science-fantasy world - explore neon nightlife, haunted tundras, undersea cities
  • Built for high drama, and high absurdity. Structured for expansive 6-8 session campaigns; supports one shots and years-long stories
  • Gameplay in multiple sessions, beginning with a collaborative Session 0 to detail the previous apocalypseImage shows an illustration of an android on the left hand side. The android wears a long red robe with a high collar and fur trim along the neck and sleeves. Text on the right-hand side reads: "FOR FANS OF: Final Fantasy 7 (video game) for intricate science fantasy storytelling. Paprika (2006 film) / Persona (video game franchise) for esoteric surrealistic dreamscapes. Cowboy Bebop (anime) for neo-noir, grey morality. Greek mythology, for intrusive and accessible deities. Blades in the Dark / The Wildsea / Imaginarium (TTRPGs) for collaborative worldbuilding, and fiction-first roleplaying.
